As India locks down in the face of the global pandemic, the country’s intelligence service, the Research & Analysis Wing, is being recruited into tracing possibly infected people.
India’s tracing campaign is far more aggressive than anything mounted in the United States. Out of 1,350 persons known to have attended a religious gather, 1,282 had been traced. RAW is being asked to help find the remaining 68.
The state government on Friday submitted before a bench of the Gujarat High Court that 68 persons from Gujarat who had attended Tablighi Jamaat congregation in New Delhi are not traceable and hunt is on to find them. The state government also said that it was taking help from Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), India’s premier spy agency, in the matter.
