As the Trump administration blamed Iran for two attacks on Persian Gulf oil tankers and Iran blamed a U.S. “false flag” operation, the U.S. Navy released this video that shows an alleged Iranian ship, allegedly removing an unexploded mine from the side of a tanker.
The claims for the video are unverified. Given the Trump administration’s deceptive policy actions around Iran;
- the use of since-suspended @Irandisinfo trolls to attack critics of Trump’s policy;
- the use of a fictional journalist by an anti-regime group to foment war against the Iranian governemnt;
- John Bolton’s well-documented record for misrepresenting U.S. intelligence reports.
There is no reason to take the claims for this video at face value. To the contrary, this may be evidence of U.S. deception
