Jerome Corsi, conspiracy theorist

Jerome Corsi, besieged conspiracy theorist, is suing Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller, the CIA, FBI, and NSA for allegedly surveilling him, although Corsi is a little hazy on the legal basis for his case.

In a lawsuit filed Sunday, Corsi asserted that “Defendants Mueller, DOJ, NSA, CIA, and FBI have engaged in ongoing, illegal, unconstitutional surveillance… in violation of the Fourth Amendment and the USA Freedom Act, as well as targetted “PRISM collection under Section 702 of the Foreign Sovereignties Immunity Act….”

Unfortunately for Corsi, the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act protects foreign countries from being sued in U.S. courts and has nothing to do with his claim. Elsewhere in the complaint Corsi cites the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), so that’s probably what he meant.

Corsi’s reckless disregard for the truth is sufficient reason not to take this publicity stunt seriously. Corsi is the author of a book asserting, falsely, that Barack Obama was not born in the United States. He is the author of a book asserting, falsely, that John Kerry did not deserve a medal for his service as a Swift Boat captain in Vietnam. The fact that he failed  proofread his own lawsuit is indicative his carelessness.

Last week Corsi said he was refusing a plea bargain deal from Mueller and filed a lawsuit. This week he filed another lawsuit. He is flailing and in need of presidential pardon if he is to escape jail time.
